  • THE PROBLEM(S)

    TYPICAL PLAYGROUNDS SEGREGATE

Playgrounds such as this one are not only inaccessible for children who experience disability, but they are rather boring for all children.  They are plastic and they are predictable.  They do not inspire imagination and they do not encourage group play.

    ADAPTIVE PLAYGROUNDS SEGREGATE, TOO

Playgrounds such as this one force children who use wheels to follow a specific path.  This place looks about as fun as a TSA line at the airport.  These are expensive solutions to the wrong problem.  The problem isn't about access to a structure, it's about allowing and encouraging children of all abilities to play together.
