We often referred to our method of fundraising for our playground as "the stone soup". It was actually how we accomplished our design, raised the funds required to pay for much of it and how we got it built. Each and every time we pass the playground we think, "How nice it is to see everyone enjoying the soup they helped create!"
Here is the description from Wikipedia...
"Stone Soup is an old folk story in which hungry strangers persuade local people of a town to give them food. It is usually told as a lesson in cooperation, especially amid scarcity. In varying traditions, the stone has been replaced with other common inedible objects, and therefore the fable is also known as button soup, wood soup, nail soup, and axe soup."
